Policy Position Statements – for review

The PHANZ has a key role in influencing public health policy. Public health policies play a crucial role in shaping the well-being of individuals, communities, and entire societies.

The PHANZ has developed a framework to support how we identify, prioritise, and develop policy position statements, to ensure all policies help achieve the goals and priorities of the PHANZ, are evidenced-based, align with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and reduce inequities and improve the hauora of all people in Aotearoa New Zealand. 

The PHANZ seeks membership feedback as part of its development of draft policy position statements – member feedback is important to ensure our statements reflect our organisational values and our collective voice.

The PHANZ also seeks member input into key organisational submissions. PHANZ submissions are an important tool for us to highlight important public health considerations as part of the public consultation process for new and updated government legislation.

Opportunities to provide feedback on draft policy position statements and draft submissions will be communicated to the PHANZ membership via email communication, as well as our monthly Pānui.
